My vote has been made, but that document is too damn long.

Honestly, that thing is like a legal document. According to Section 4, article 7b of bylaw 14c(i); you all suck. wink

Right... this is stupid. If you want the people who have been gone so very long out of the clan, put it to a seperate vote, why don't you? There's no reason to write a seven page long list of rules for an INTERNET FORUM CLAN. Fuck!

Seconded. And also voted.

Okay, okay - so I've got a penchant for legal-ese bullshit. So sue me grin

Seriously, my intent with it was just to make everything completely clear as to what was acceptable and not, what means we could use to boot someone and not, etc.

This kind of shit may be boring as hell, but in the long run it is definitely a plus to have some rules set up so that way we treat everyone equally...

To be honest, I also feel the document is a little over the top and could probably have been condensed into a single page of bullet points.

But I feel that this clan does need some rules (or more specifically, does need some method of voting inactive members out) and as Tech was the only one who actually got off his arse to write the damn thing - theres been talk about the lack of members voting for months - I think its more than a little stupid for some of you to get caught up about the style that the document is written in.

So to sum up:

Yes it's over the top for an internet clan, yes it's a hell of a lot to read and yes it's an awful lot like one of those legal contracts that everyone hates and we all get enough of in real life. But we need rules, we now have said rules. If someone offered you a free car, would you say no because it's the wrong colour?

Quit yer bitchin' wink

I don't see what's wrong with covering all your bases. It's not like people set out to make a complicated document. Most of the "over the top" points came up when loopholes and undefined regions were found. It's not like they're there for no perceivable reason. The "basic" rules are easy enough to understand and the "advanced" rules need not even to be read untill there's a real problem. They are all fairly obvious and honest. It's not like there's a clause that will force you to sell a kidney if you make two posts containing 'wang' on the same day or anything...

Hey, now that I come to think of it, could we include that one still?

Best rule ever. Could we make it effective only on prime-numbered days? grin

Totally unfair!

I think that according to bylaw 2, paragraph 4.1 bis, you can only vote me out when I'm not holding your balls in a nutcracker.

I love the fact that we're making bylaws for a clan that barely posts in its own forums, much less the forums it's supposed to be the clan of.
