BTW, I'm not an unreasonable person, if there's a problem with something in the chan, let me or Darkflow know, and we'll take care of it. I just don't think we need to have a chan that's 90% ops. There should be some sort of.. prestige to it.

As much as I want to say a flat no like Mato did, I will do some explaining.

First of all, the channel is a clan channel. It is owned and operated by Tomato and DarkFlow. Directly under them are myself and HardFlip.

We are co-owners of the channel beacuse we know how to run the place. We know how to ban, unban, add users, change access levels and the like.

Level 150 is for people who are there a lot and can add users these people are also more active in the channel as a whole.

The lowest of the three groups is level 100. These are users added by people in level 150 normally. They can do most functions except add users and other admin things.

Now there is a reason for this 3-class structure. Level 190+ powers can effect quite a bit. They also allow people to make others Channel Admins (level 150), another powerful position. Level 100 is the channel op. These people are ops plainly and don't have much power over the channel other then its day to day running.

This is one of my main issues with the current set up. How did you people end up with higher powers than others? What makes you "better" than everyone else in the clan.

I know how to do all of these things and I have never abused those priviledges. Occasionally I will op everyone in the channel for fun, that is all. If they get out of line I deop them.

Back in the day Hellion and I both had level 190 access, before either you or hardflip were even regulars at the channel. We did all the adding, and access level changing that needed to be done. So you can see why the current situation angers me.

If this poll doesn't pass, I will make one more proposition, that the "leaders" of the channel must be elected.

If niether of these things pass, I think I might quit the clan.

Mato believes HF and I responsible and knowledgeable enough to be co-owners. He does not believe you to be as such or does not think it of importance to give you those rights.

I never said either of us is better then the rest of the clan. A mod isn't better then the rest of the clan, they just hold more power.

Lastly, I don't think you should have errupted a simple fued between you and HardFlip into this. The main reason that your access was removed was not HF, but that Austnet culls its access lists after a certain period of not signing in. I don't think you ever considered that and you instantly blamed HF, since you don't like him.

You know, this idea just hit me an hour or two ago. I was thinking that since the IRC channel is getting so big, and there are certain people who are regulars there yet simply lurkers on the forums (me, for example), there should be an IRC clan. We could have a site, like [GSF], the members could have ops, we could have an initiate system, etc.

Since it's not [GSF]'s channel, why not have people be ops who aren't in [GSF]?

I had those powers before I left the clan, I realize I forfeited them when I quit. It's not a matter of me not being knowledgeable enough, I know as much, if not more, about the way IRC and austenet work. I'm not trying to get high level access here, I'm trying to stabilize the access of everyone to make things fair. Members shouldn't be able to remove other members' access simply because they are liked more by Tomato and DF. It should be decided by the clan.

No, I've held these sentiments for a long time, the fued just gave me a good reason to finally do something about it. as for austnet removing me, that's bullshit, I was only gone for one day. I took a trip to the beach for a day, came back and my access is gone.

But this thread is not about the fued. This is a different matter entirely. I've been meaning to make this poll for a long time.
