It doesn't matter. There's no reason to have people in the clan that haven't posted in a year. So, there was a need to know just when people should be out. A thorough approach was taken. Where's the crime?

Actually, whatever you want it to be, a collection of quality posters, a band of people that colour the forums, people who play games together, chat together, a "guaranted quality" label, forum glue, whatever.

parena, you've always been such a prick about this, it's like a running joke that was never funny (something I know a lot about, so trust me) "Oh, wouldn't it be great if everyone but me left the clan, it'd be so exclusive!"

Get a cheap porno and lock your door and have your one man party. This shit is way too heavy for the [GSF] everyone joined lo those many [insert time space relevant to your joining]s ago.

In case you hadn't noticed, drama is the only thing that keeps people coming back to this forum. Hell, you wouldn't be posting here just now unless there was some sort of incident.

Not that I can say I'm any different. If this thread didn't exist, I wouldn't have also stumbled across Taco's Mini Meet thread the other day. Before that, I haven't posted here in 2 months, which I think is a record for me (on this forum).

And yet, it's still more recent and more often than some clan members.

I guess the same goes, on the "reading that because"... but I still don't get the whole rules thing, and yeah Zilla hasn't been here since forever, but an outright crop is so harsh... there should be like honorary "this person was awesomesauce with us for a while" or something, the way parena puts it is just cold.

Especially being all like "GOOD, GO AWAY, THEN IT WILL BE JUST ME AND COYOTE" -- oh, you'd love that, wouldn't you? You man.

It's done now, but I'm going to be completely hypocritcal and say that I really care about the fact that everyone else cares so much. In other words, as much as I say this is the internet and who cares, I always want to deposit my two cents. And that two cents is to the order of "Trim the inactives with respect, leave the slow to dwell, this should be more like fun and less like school."

If you ask me, which no one else did so I will ("What do you think, CS?") you could all use a lot more icecream around here.

To those who are leaving: OK, bye guys. Have fun. If you don't like the way this clan is going, feel free to set up one of your own - it's not like there aren't plenty of clans on the forums already. And just remember that even if you've quit the clan, that doesn't mean you have to stop posting here...

In reply to CS's last comment: well, I'm all for the bylaws, but I do agree on the creation of an 'awesomesauce' list for ex-members. Even if they all eventually left or got kicked for inactivity, they all got accepted at least once, and should be remembered for that at least. Call it 'Friends of [GSF]' if you must, but I would like to see that list included on the new website.

And in reply to the question "what is the fucking point of [GSF]?": well, that's an interesting philosophical question. I don't think the clan has a purpose, any more than the GameSpy Forums as a whole do. But the new Bylaws help obscure that fact, and make it seem like we have a purpose. How's that?

And lastly: parena, nobody put you in charge of this clan, so there's no need to try to persuade people to leave or do anything else to reduce the size of the clan if you're just doing it to increase your own personal control over it. I'm thankful for your help on the website and the bylaws, but now they're in place, can't we just sit back and let them do their work? Anyone who's inactive will be kicked from the clan, and anyone who wants to leave will leave as well, as some already have done. Anyone who posts enough to be active, and wants to stay in the clan, stays in the clan, it's as simple as that.

If you really want more people to leave... go ahead and call a revote. But I'd hope we can avoid going through that again.
