2nd MvC Tournament - Suggestions, Ideas, Dissent 7/1/03 5:34am
A while back, Some1els and LDL (I think it was them) arranged a tournament for Marvel VS. Capcom that could be played online via Final Burn Alpha v0.2.5 with the Kaillera Netplay Client.
I particularly enjoyed this tourney because even though I have a poor connection I could still play and even win occasionally, and it was also justa hella lotta fun.

Legal Disclaimer Shit: You can only have a ROM of Marvel VS. Capcom if you already own the game, and if you don't you have to delete the ROM after 24 hours, blah blah blah...

Would anyone enjoy doing something like this? I'll try to answer any questions people might have who weren't around for the first one. If there's enough interest I'd like to organize another MvC Tourney.

This is how is goes:
A bunch of people sign up for the tournament. Those people are put on a scoreboard in the tournament thread. Of their own accord, the people IM everyone else and have matches (usually best 2 out of 3) and then both report back to the thread to announce and confirm whoever won. It's kind of a freelance thing, for the most part. Instead of brackets, the person with the most victory points after everyone has faught each other wins the tournament, and of course there could be tie-breakers and all that if the need arose.

We could do it differently this time around and use tournament brackets, but I like the other way better because it's less restraining and more flexible. I'll have to read up on how they made the rules in the last one because it's been quite some time since then and I've forgotten some of it I'm sure, and because the tournament never really finished that time. It might not this time, but I still thought it was fun.

If you know of a MvC2 ROM for FinalBurn then I'd sure as hell like to know where to get it.

That was one of the most fun times i've ever had online, god yes ill play. email me sometime (since im never on the ICQ machine anymore) and we'll set up some practice matches ok?

They are talking emulators John Doe. Or to be specific, CPS 2 emulators.

If you guys can't find any roms, just check out http://www.romshare.net

It is a really good site with loads of legit (2years old) roms for ALL systems. Close to no pop-ups and a good download speed. This is the english version of www.emuchina.net if you guys are wondering.
