A New Way to Kill Time: AVATAR [Redux] (From /gamespy) 10/19/03 6:48pm
So, your question is, if you clicked the topic, what is AVATAR?

It's a MUD , and a good one at that.

I've been playing this on and off for almost a year: it's sustained interest that long, which is more to say then most other games.

How to you play it? You boot up your MUD client, and put in avatar.outland.org at port 3000.

What's a MUD client? Basically, it's an enhanced telnet client, with nice features that help the game. Here's the one I use: ALC .

How to play the game proper though? Well, you can learn on your own, or click here for a quick little page I made on how to get started, and basic tips.

So yea, post here if you play, and what your character is.

I can help with most questions, and will be glad to.

I have a high level cleric ready to help any new characters, I don't play myself any more, but I keep Zikkel around for healing all you crazy low level GSF kids and giving out 1337 armour spells.
