Howdy howdy. As many of you may be away a good amount of us have started playing EVE online. The game have a very robust corporation system and I think it is only natural for us to unite under one corporate flag.

I have the skills necessary to start the corp but one thing remains crucial, the name. The name of the corp can be rather important so I figure we should have an open floor to discuss possible names and once we get a collection of them i'll make a poll to decide. Submit as many names as you want. Remember that all the other players of EVE will see the name and we want to be ambigious enough not to 'niche' ourselves with our names.

For example that massive assassination corp that you have probably all read about was named "The Guiding Hand". The name could just as well fit a mining and industry corp as it would an assassination corp. We don't want to limit our future activities with our name. How likely are others to trade with a corp named "Kill You Dead and Steal Yo' Shit"?

Well at least that is what I think :P We can still have a slightly suggestively evil name, like the Guild of Calamitous Intent (free handbooks for all!). Anyways, names names names.

I'm not playing in EVE, but I would like to propose The Migrant Worker's Union. It's a good, all purpose name, and if you want to turn to piracy, you can run after miners spamming "I CUT YOU ESE" on the chat channels.

Questions are serious name or funny name, GSF as an acronym, etc. I've got some ideas, like Game of Spies something or other (to keep GSF), or Guild of... Space Fgts? I dunno. I'll think about it.

It's about damn time some GSFers started playing Eve. Awesome game with no expansion packs, and no shards, you play in exactly same universe as everyone else.

My favourite part is the complete absence of a level grind, which makes me very happy indeed.

I have 2 characters both fast approaching 2 years old: a miner/refiner/manufacturer/hauler/trader and an Amarrian fighter.

If you need any help you can convo me in game, Aloris and Toranis Crow are my characters so look me up.
If you do create a Corp, i'd be most interested in joining.

If you all end up being lawless brigands I may be forced to remain a heavily related but utterly unaffiliated subsidiary. That being said, CORPSE Corp is fine with me, but I am flexible (just ask ocelot lolololo).

Ok the Corporation has been established. From some talk amoung players last night we have settled on the name "Khamsin" for the corporation. It is vague enough that we can set any goals in it and it gives us a badass corp tag [KSIN].

Jita is our headquarters for now. It is at the center of many jump spots and the school of applied knowledge is an invaluable place to buy skills.

To Join Khamsin

Head to Jita IV - Moon 6 - School of Applied Knowledge.

Under the "offices" tab on the right bar scroll all the way down and find our corporation at the bottom. Click the "Join Corp" button under the flag (The flag will be changed soon, just gotta wait for EVE account systems to come back after Red Moon Rising patch).

This will prompt an application which is pretty basic. Fill out it (put your /gamespy name in the details if you are not sure if I know your character) and send it away. That is about it.

The corp system is very very deep so it is more than just a collection of players under a tag. There are all sorts of offices, politics, accounts, equipment management and stations to deal with. It should be a whole lot of fun and once we get everyone in the corp and more developed in the game we can really set some goals and work together. I look forward to seeing you all in the Corp channel happy

Ok I got the account working now. I have deposited 100k into the corp for various expenses (changing the logo being one). This is the new logo, I hope you like it. If not we can vote within the corp to change it :P

I thought it went well with the meaning of Khamsin (Desert Wind).

This corp cost me 1.7 million ISK to establish so if any of you feel like dropping some cash into the corporation treasury I will not mind happy There is no tax rate however so fear not. Also as being a member of the corp there are even stock shares you can purchase and we can pay dividens on. All sorts of interesting stuff to make it in your best interest to have the corp thrive!

Call it silly if you wish (even as a fgtry name has already been picked), but I couldn't respect myself if I didn't suggest some group take this on as their tag.

how would you guys like to join MY corp? one of the older, respected PVP corps in EVE, we have our own alliance (though it's one of the smaller ones) and kick plenty of ass. Ingame, I'm Ysabelle nKataros or Lamarr Burgess.

Also, here's what you should train straight off the bat if you want to get into the game quick:

(Amarr/Caldari/Gallente/Minmatar) frigate - level 4
gunnery - level 4
afterburner - level 4
navigation - level 4
high speed maneuvering - level 1
electronics - level 3
propulsion jamming - level 1

this will get you in a fast frigate that is able to lock down enemy targets very quickly and prevent them from escaping - one of the most useful functions in pvp.
