	Following recent talk of imminent closure, superbugs, titanic volcanoes and other doomsday prohpesies, I think it'd be best to repost SC's excellent guide on joining the planetblackandwhite IRC channel. It would be a real tragedy to miss out on the inane goings on here as a result of the lack of BnW sequels, gamespy's disinterest in the casual gamer and, of course, the International Dutch Conspiracy. Without further ado. -------------------------- It's shame. The forums are probably being shutdown. I hereby invite everyone into our super secret tree clubhouse IRC channel. It's located at: Server: irc.gamesurge.net (http://www.gamesurge.net) Channel: #pbnw This is NOT a Black & White 1, or 2, chat channel. Do NOT ask any B&W related questions in here. Furthermore, enter at your own risk. Don't be surprised if people yell at you when you come in. That's perfectly normal. If you're a complete and utter newbie then you're NOT welcome to come in, but, just do it anyway. Oldbies and everyone else is MOST welcome, of course, but still expect to be ridiculed/yelled at. Just yell back. And oh, try to make it a habit of coming into the IRC channel. Put it in your start-up folder or whatever, otherwise it just won't work and you'll forget us and get married and die of old age. Anyway, here are some graphical instructions on how to get into the IRC channel, mind, these are very verbose but it should only take about 5 minutes to setup mIRC. Alternatively, you could use another client like Trillian. If you're on an Apple machine, I'm sure you could sort it out all by yourself. ------------------------------------------------------ This is NOT a Black & White 1, or 2, chat channel. Do NOT ask any B&W related questions in here. Furthermore, enter at your own risk. ------------------------------------------------------ Browse to http://www.mirc.com Click on Download mIRC, download the application & install it. Then, go to Start, All Programs, mIRC, mIRC. The mIRC option screen should pop up. If not, point Tools, Options. Nickname & ALternative are required and should be filled in accurately. Please fill in Full Name & Email Address as well but may be nonsense. 1. Click on 'Servers' 2. Choose "Gamesurge" from the list. 1. Click on 'Options' 2. Take over the settings as shown in the picture. 3. Press OK, thus saving the settings. Press the lightning icon. The client will connect to the IRC network and present you with a new dialogue. "mIRC favorites" should pop up. Press the 'Add' button. Put "#pbnw" in the Channel textbox, and enable "Join on Connect". Give it any description. Then, press the 'Add' button. Scroll down- and select the GameSurge network, Press OK, and in the "Add Channel" window, press OK again. You should now be back int he mIRC "Favorites" window. Select your #pbnw channel from the list, enable "Enable join on Connect" and press OK. Close the program and start it again. mIRC might be shareware, it might prompt you to register, but it will only do so after 30 days and only on start-up. It's as-good-as-freeware.
