My firends, today marks my first year on the forums. Exactly 1 year ago today, i came here for the first time. Even though i was a board guest, i guess it still counts. To celebrate this event, i am for the first time unraveling the entire story of my historical life. Enjoy.

I was born in what is now Egypt in 3856 B.C. Technically I wasn't actually born, i was summoned by the first prophets who forsaw many great things in store for the future. They called upon many to help start the human race and help it develop into something phenomenal. Throughout a 100-200 year period, we were summoned again and again. I was one of the first. We set about on our seemingly meanial tasks: creating Beringia and setting the groundwork for the East to be the basis of civilization. We had our doubts, for our masters were blinded by the visions they'd seen. Over the years we helped humans settle farther west, allowing Egypt and most of the middle east to be settled. It was during these times when i met my best friend, Faquarl. We worked together mainly on Egypt. We stayed there for nearly a thousand years, building on what our masters had started. They were long gone, however we had been bound to finish and could not rest until the deed had been done. The first significant success we had was when the pyramids were finished. This sparked a golden age for Egypt, and was the beginning of a series of wonders built by the Egyptians. Everything seemed to going fine until about 300 B.C. This is the beginning of what is called "The Great Schism". Our masters before were long gone, however, they had left their secrets behind for others to study. For a long time they had gone untouched, but pharoahs began to worry about their people's trustworthiness. They craved power, and turned to the ancient scrolls our masters had written. The scrolls showed how to control us, and use our powers for whatever they wish. And there was nothing we could do about it.

It was during this time in which i met possibly my best friend, Ptolemy. No, not the one your thinking about, a different one. He was the heir to the throne after his cousin. I was assigned to Ptolemy by my older master before he died. His name was Ramuthra, and was not a very pleasant person at all.... I was nearly speachless when Ptolemy addressed me in the tone he did: an equal and fair tone, as if he was talking to a friend. He did not tell me to do things for him, he asked me. And i was glad to serve him because of this. He even let me roam free when he was busy. He gained the respect of higher ranks under the pharoah's rule. His cousin, Ptolemaeus(not to be confused with Ptolemy), became envious of Ptolemy's success. After months of consideration, he sent an assasin party of 3 to kill Ptolemy in his sleep. My master had suspected treachery from his cousin, but wasnt sure inwhich form it would take and when it would happen. That night he ordered me to stay by his bedside, allowing me to do whatever i wished to an unwelcome intruder. Nothing happened for the longest time, and i longed to rest. The moon was in its highest position when something finally did happen. a black figure crawled through each of Ptolemy's three windows. I concealed myself next to his bed. One of them snuck up to my masters bed and produced a daggar, which i took forcefully and drove into his back. His comrades could not see what was happening in the pitch black, and escaped after they heard their friend crash to the floor.

When my master awoke the following morning, i told him of the night's events. "I knew it", he said, "I am afraid, Rechyt, that i will have to have you around more often to protect me." Rechyt is just one of my many names, in case you were wondering. Ptolemy and i grew closer over the next months, and got to know each other quite well. In fact, he seemed quite interested in me. He asked me questions about my origin and where i go when im not working. You see, there is a place, or more realistically a concept, called "The Other Place". We didnt give it its name, for it is indescribable, and you humans like to label everything. Anyway, "The Other Place" is where time ceases to exist. There is no demensional conceptation, and furthermore, no defined places or center. It is where the energy which i was created from originated. Ptolemy was extrememly interested about "The Other Place". Though i couldn't really describe it, because theres really nothing to describe. Circumspectly, i asked him questions about his past and his plans for the future. He answered, "Rechyt, i do not beleive i will live to see the throne that was once my father's." I hadn't expected him to say this, for i was oblivious to the fact that he thought his cousin, Ptolemaeus, was trying to bring him down.

Several days later, we were walking through the town square, Ptolemy was purchasing food from a merchant, and i was watching his back nearby. A flash appeared from the corner of my eye, and a bang followed. Apperently Ptolemaeus had sent Djinn(my kind) to kill my master. i told him to run, and i found 2 of them trying to follow. Normally i would've plucked their heads off and decorated the town square with them but they were followed by several afrits(stronger versions of my kind). I was forced to retreat along with Ptolemy. He had run into a library(not the Library of Alexandria) and i followed. I barracaded the door with what i could, and stood by my master, waiting for instruction. There was a hard look in his eyes. He turned to me and said, "Rechyt, my friend, i shall dismiss you. I shall not allow you to suffer the same fate as i." i pleaded and begged to stay and fight with him, but he insisted on dismissing me. You see, when a djinn is dismissed, we are spit out where ever our current master is thinking about. At the time Ptolemy dismissed me, he was thinking about Rome. As my essence disapparated from the library, i could see the door give way and djinn come pouring through.

To be continued...
