Well people are showing up more and more and things now are becoming chaotic because there is no organization, so I want everyone to list suggestions, and we'll poll each suggestion and write up some dare I say it rules, or atleast guidelines, because we need to get to games quicker. It takes too long to organize and people get left out because either they don't have the game, or dislike it severely or work gets in the way. So please post some suggestions and I'll write up the rules based on the poll results.

Here some;

1. Have two guild practices, one on Sunday and one during the week, this way people who can't come on Sunday can get a chance to play.

2. Setup our own chatroom on Practice day(s) to confirm who shows up.

3. We need to pick the game(s)to play before practice. If people want to play multiple games I or someone will make a record of who's playing what with whom.

4.Make ICQ manditory, since most of us have it. This way we all have a common instant messenger.

Also I am willing to mark down who will not be able to attend practice, so if you know you're not going to show up, contact me and I'll give it to everyone else.

A couple of other things I would say could help...remember these are just ideas:

1) Put certain people in charge of a given event...
2) We need aplace where the members can VOTE for what game there is to be played by the clan for te practice
3) I like GSF's idea behind "Game Masters" one for each game
4) An IRC channel would be nice,,,,,sit back and goof off (Goat Pig and I are almost always online...becasue of our jobs)


**RANT**: Our guild websitedoes not render correctly under linux...which is bad -- I cant read the text on the main page or navigate with the buttons...

I understand Im not in the guild, and blah blah blah. But it seems like you guys need an idea, so why not split the guild up into 2 groups. Then have each other compete against each other?

Yes its time to organize a little bit because the things get out of hand. I agree totaly with you guys.
I say lets make a standard post every week here(Thursday) saying what games will be played in Practise at Sunday's.
All the guild members sould post there opinion, and with a poll we will count what game have the most votes and we will play that one. Its a good Idea I think.

I'll reply to the numbers:
1. That can (obviously) be done, but there are potential timing problems...
If we kept the '8pm, 3pm, 12pm' setup as we do on Sundays...

Well, people work, and I don't think the majority of UK'ers will want to knock back the start of the practice 'til midnight.

I'm not ruling it out, though - just showing the probs.

2. I'm not sure there's too much point in this - it's not as if people just sit there under anonymous names and say absolutely nothing, is it?

And besides, because we're a guild, we can't enforce a 'Don't turn up, and you're out.' rule.

3. Good idea.

4. I think we all have it anyway: Check the site for everyone's #.

The general problem with all this organisational shit is the fact that we're a guild, not a clan.

There's going to be a UT2k3 team as soon as it's released, which will be the 'serious' part of the guild. I'm also just off to the 'Make New Topic' button to start a sign up for a CS team.

That's the way I see us going, really:

The Guild - Everyone. General hoe-down every Sunday.
The Teams - Specific games, specific people and rules.

If I had the slightest idea how to fix it; and it didn't require too much effort (of course), then I would.

the two practices would prob be nice for other people, but guessing that most people who cant get to the sunday one work during the week, it'll have to be 6pm onwards pst, and thus early morning in europe, or vice versa... im sure noodle can find a compromise

on the chatroom thingy, whats wrong with the yarn room exactly, its not like anyone else except us talks in there anyway.

predefining a game is a good idea, unless its something really crap like renegade, and no one shows

and we almost all have icq anyway, though i cant stand it, as well as being bloatware it eats my bandwidth too.
combined with gsarcade i can looe a good 10 fps from cs and add 40 to my ping

and actually, although im sorta busy this week (desperately trying to save data before this file server hd dies) i was thinking about making a flash version of the site, once im done with halo of course, mabye in a few weeks ill make it.

Good job people, keep coming up with suggestions, remember things will be revised and nothing is set in stone.

a revision about the second weekly practice, we can see who is free on a weekly basis, that way we can move the practice date if need be to have more people join.

Here's what I'm going to do:
1) Get us an IRC channel on Gamesnet East
2) Start rebuilding us a better webpage with spots for upcoming matches etc. etc.
3) See who wants what teams to be created and have different sections of the webpage for different teams.
