I've made a little utility for starting/stopping the Wireless Zero Configuration service. WZC is known to create ping spikes while probing for new APs, which can be a problem if you use wireless for gaming. The common solution is to use .bat files with 'net stop wzcsvc' and 'net start wzcsvc' commands. I'm not a gamer myself but I thought it'd be nice to have something with a gui. WiSwitch (that's what the utility is called) can also handle WLAN Autoconfig (Vista), although stopping this service will cause your ping to spike through the roof (i.e. terminates the connection). So now I'm trying to share it and get some feedback maybe.

Can't stand the guilt any longer... I hope no one was foolish enough to download. It's a direct link, on a forum, to an EXE file! How can it be anything other than a trojan? And it's not just any trojan, no sir. This one will unleash the forces of doom onto your system, nanodemons gang-raping every sector of your hard drive and so on. I didn't want to... the Master made me do it.

Can you post the source code used to make this? Just want to look at it.

The Trojan

I'm not allowed to edit the 1. post, says it's been violated by a moderator or something. You can find both the installer and the source here:

Why did you remove the link anyway, because of the sarcasm? If I really wanted to push trojans, it'd probably be something porn-baited, certainly not a utility for stopping WZC. And I wouldn't do it on forums, exe links make people paranoid, that was the inspiration for my sarcasm.

No problem. Yea the main reason was for the Trojan post, my apologies. What did you code this in? Visual Basic?

It's NSIS. It's actually meant for making installers, I doubt you'll find many other applications, if any, coded in NSIS (unless they're from me). Wouldn't recommend it to someone who wants to get into programming. It's a pretty powerful scripting language, though. I like to play with it and take it beyond its purpose. I've even made a screensaver with it, which you can also find through the above link.
