Sad, you can buy a soviet Mosin Nagant for $75 here (+ plus $35 for a background check) or a lee Enfield for $125. Find out if you can own muzzleloaders, if you can I can give you some suggestions. And find out if you can legally carry a folding knife, if so spend some money on a defense class or find someone that can show you how to defend yourself with a knife.

Do realize how completely inaccurate that question is?

If I love guns, then the more deadly-sounding option is "positive". Yet if I am some paranoid parent then the more deadly-sounding option is "negative".

The question means different things to different people.

Background check for a Mosin? Haha, that sucks. Where I'm from, not only is there no background checks for any type of firearm, you can carry a concealed weapon without a permit, and it'd be perfectly legal.
