Having been paintballing twice, and loving the adrenaline of trying to avoid being shot, I have to say it's a great game. Apart from when it's freezing cold, and you have no gloves, and have to hold the Gun whilst the gas pours out during your shooting.

I've only been shot twice so far. One was on the shoulder, from about 10 metres away, leaving normal skin surrounded by a shitload of bruise. The other was when we were trying to cap a flag in one of the fortresses (serious Paintball fortresses, as in, surrounded with wood and has an outpost on the top). I tried hiding behind a tree, obviously they could see my arms, and all I could see were these balls flying past me, and paint spraying everywhere. Eventually one of the balls clipped my camo, although I didn't feel anything.

One of the games consisted of two teams, with a bridge between bases. On the bridge was a briefcase, and you had to get it, go over to the opposite side of the bridge, and then jump down under the bridge to get back to your side of the base. My friend forgot this, and tried to go back the way he came in.ne The Marshalls told him to run back over and do it properly. Sadly, all of the opposition were ready to fire. He was covered in yellow and purple fluorescent paint, and seeing it was awesome. It was all splashing off of him like someone was firing a minigun into water. Needless to say, he got a bit bruised.

Why do the words "Pop smoke and clear on Zulu!" come to mind? That and I see the mullet grows strong in you Skywalker.

Sound's like America's Army's Special Forces training. Do it my way or lose.

Just went paintballing today, 4 sets of 2 games each, I got 4 kills and died twice. But two of those kills, my God they were great.

We (me, my friend, and my dad) started off down this road, and found some enemies to shoot at, blah blah. Then two or three of 'em moved around and tried to flank us, but instead of coming down and getting us (partly because we were covering ourselves), they decided to go up the hill and attack some of our other teammates. HA HA DUMBASSES.

I started sneaking up the hill after 'em, and they were too busy shooting at other people...So I'm sneaking, and I finally catch a glimpse of one of 'em, so I crouch down and keep sneaking up, until I'm like 10 feet away from one of 'em. Trouble is, I couldn't tell if he was on my team or not, because why would it be so easy for me to get behind an enemy? (I was on the non-banded team, the other team had yellow ribbon tied to their hoppers and I couldn't see his gun)

But then something happened that made it incredibly easy for me to tell he wasn't on my team: a clearly banded player walked up to him and started relaying enemy positions, and I'm surprised he didn't see me there. So I sneak up a little closer, and now they're side by side prone, and I'm like 5 feet away...I shoot the first guy once in the back and once in the ass, and right when I pull the trigger on the other guy, he was so scared he calls himself out...but I think I nailed him in the jaw or neck area (under the mask, baby BABY). SOO SMOOOTH, that made my day.

By the way, there'll be a pic or two of me and my friends up on the paintball site in a few hours, but it's just us chillin. I'll still link though, just for kicks. here we go, two pics: Caught us slackin, decidin which way to go. I'm on the left, then my dad, then friends, and some fgt gettin all up in our picture...needless to say we all shot him. Waitin for the round to start. My dad, then me, throwing up the west coast sign (on the sly), and some fgts.

Sounds like you had some fun. One thing that Shang Tang will agree with me on is, please don't call them kills. The sport doesn't need the stigmatism that comes with calling them paintball guns and anything that seems militaristic.

If you enjoyed yourself, go out and find a big games with expirienced players or a tournament or sup' air open/training day. Once your level of compitition goes up and you are playing people who will not stop throwing paint at any time in the game, and they're throwing it at 15-20bps, then and only then have you tasted the hight of the sport.
And once you've shot one of the best players in your country in the goggles, once you;ve done that you'll know there's no turning back.

Heh, sorry about the kills thing. And I wish I could play in tournaments etc., but the lack of money really brings me down...As you can see by the picture, I even rented a gun from the place. So, no go, even though I would love to.

moz: Thanks, I guess. And YOU look like YOUR dad.

Woah, I thought us Australians were backwards. People in the states still use vert-gassed markers. Shit that is weird.
Well, just save up some money and instead of spending it on a day like that, spend it one something where you'll play expirienced players. I'm sure if you talk to some people there'd be some one willing to lend you goggles and a marker.

Yeah, something like that.
I wouldn't recommend dying to any one. Not that good a thing.

I don't. Because I understand that you guys can walk down to your local paintball store and buy any marker you want. We can't.
I also realise that by tomorrow you guys can go down to any paintball store and buy this.
