I need some assistance. In two main areas:

1) The design of my upcoming website. I have a severe dislike for embossing and shiny bullshit, which, well, pretty much rules out me asking Cyrris for help. But I also have a severe lack of time, so I can't do this myself. I need someone to design the HTML portion for me. A general outline of what I want is as follows:

- A simple, flat design. I don't want anything flash, or shiny looking. However, the main thing the comes to mind when I think about "What do I want for this site?" is the fact that this site has to work with my artwork. It has to be simple and flat, because that's how my artwork is. It has to be largely dark-ish tones, because my artwork is primarily bright, so it would work best if there was nothing in the design that would distract the viewer from the actual artwork. The most applicable example of what I want, that I can think of, at the moment, is the Penny Arcade website.

2) The background coding so that the website actually works. It would probably be best if this was done by the same person who designs the site, or in conjunction with them, at least.

The fundamental things I want are:

- a blog system, but not just some code ripped off of somewhere else, for preference. Just something that I can post news on, without having to edit the HTML, and will allow people to comment on the newsposts, as well as archiving them so that only, say, the last week's news is shown.

- an image upload system, again, not something ripped off from somewhere. It needs to allow for the image to be edited, deleted and commented on. (Basically, the Deviant Art image posting system, but only for the fin, and without all the suck).

- an archiving system for articles and whatever bullshit that I choose to throw on there that's not applicable to put in the news.

That's all I want for now, and I'd greatly appreciate any who would offer their services.

I'm up for coding the php/mysql backend. But as I already told you, I cant design for shit.

Just get someone else design the pages with mock content in HTML/CSS/Javascript and then send them to me and I can fit in the serverside stuff.

As long as you tell both of us exactly what you want on the website.

I can probably help out a bit with the back end stuff. I'm only just now getting my feet wet with PHP, but I'm well acquainted with good design. It's exactly the kind of work I did for money for a few years, just in a different language, and against a different database.

While we're on the search for talented individuals, anybody out there feel like whipping up some icons for a piece of software I've been writing in my spare time? I hate the free icons I have, but need images for various buttons, etc. Not to mention the dire need I have of a program icon and something to put on a splash screen. You get the picture.

You're welcome to all the credit you want and deserve, but there's no dough in it for you. It's just something I diddle with now and again, and will dump onto sourceforge when it's more stable.

I can always use some design practice, I might be able to put something together. My designs are always practical and easy to code with.
