Is it me or is there suddenly banner ads at the top of the forum?

Have I been been competely out of it and never noticed them before?

Or were they sneakily put up today?

(EDIT: ADDED)

<orange>Well, for the banners I've got the Firefox extension adblock, so in 2 clicks the banners were gone.

edit: I get the same on the spam protection crap

edit: seems that if you block the ad, you get the spam message... ?

edit: It' starting to look like it.

edit: doesn't work for image only ads, I can block those, just not the ones with the flash nonsense 'coz they trigger the spam message

edit: now I was able to block a flashy one as well. this all is teh suck</orange>

Yeah, that spam protection thing was some bug affecting all ForumPlanet. Got fixed.

As for ads here, I see my Firefox adblock is indeed blocking some scripts and things, but when I load the same page in IE, I still see nothing.

But when I load it up in Opera, I see the banner. Only in Opera I'm not logged in to ForumPlanet. In Firefox and IE and am logged in.

Logging out of IE now... and yeah, I see the banner. So for me it only seems to be visible for those who aren't logged in? But then you guys wouldn't have seen it...

Maybe you've got a plugin that you forgot about on your IE that stops you seeing it when you are logged in?

Besides Cyrris I'm pretty sure you are SUPPOSED to see it when logged in because only logged in users can post on the forums!

I know, that's why it's odd. I guess when I uninstalled IE's adshield plugin, it didn't completely uninstall. But then, it doesn't explain why in IE it showed only when I was logged out. Maybe it was a different ad which was showing.

Ah well, as long as they don't screw speed of forums I've got no problems.

(Beyond the ones that I naturally have.)

Popupcop dealt with the flash, at least. Now, if I can only remove the images.

Okay, now I'm annoyed. I can't ban the flash with Firefox, and I can't ban the images with IE. Die, IGN Adserver.

I'm still adblocking 100% of ads over here, flash or otherwise.

Since you're the admin, can't you remove the advertisement from the Bottom Inlude? That must be the way of doing it. Perhaps the top include too, since it specifies the table there.

There's no real reason to have advertisements here.
