I think having a degree specialised with the word "Game" in the title rather than just having basic Computer Science will be quite useful. Although the course titles have lots of different names, ranging from 'Digital Entertainment' to 'Computer Games Software Development'.

if you want to get into the gaming industry, ofcourse its a pro. the thing is, chances are big you WONT get into the gaming industry, and you'll need to find a job on other programming. which is why I say, dont specialise too much.

if you want to get into the gaming biz, experience means more than degrees. So get modding!

Yea, I'm in my senior year of high school too. I totally don't want to have to deal with getting into a college. I want to major in something English related, but I don't know what sort of career that will set me up for. I'm a little scared, but I'm such a manly man that I'll tough it out. Plus I haven't taken my SATs yet and I don't really know which college I want to go to...

Neither do I, I totally haven't done any of my applications yet. And I told my college councelor I'd have my college essay in for him to read on Monday? Nope. I have no idea where I want to go either. But I am going to visit Carnegie Mellon soon. And Oberlin.

This semester I'm taking:
Intro to Sociology
Intro to Philosophy
Intro to Psychology
Peace and Conflict
Intro to Chemistry

Woo. I'm also at the University of Texas at Austin.
Next semester, I dunno. A foreign language and a chemistry class and a statistics class.

My university sucks, and doesn't offer and web design related stuff at all.

So my optoelectronics degree currently comprises of maths, physics (maths), computers (maths), and statistics (maths). Though last semester I had electronics (maths) instead of stat.

I hate it. A lot.

Brain chemistry is the cause of many psychological ailments, like depression. It makes perfect sense.
