I have a rubbish memory for random ales I've tried that I like. Can't go wrong with some Doombar, Oxford Gold or pretty much anything from Badger Brewery.

In general I'm a fan of pale and golden ales but I'll try pretty much anything. Tend to dislike beers that taste too hoppy.

Learned to drive in my Dad's Civic, mostly drove in my Mum's Panda. Walked pretty much everywhere in Glasgow or used public transport. Now I pretty much always bike everywhere. Got a cheap but decent single speed bike for scooting around town on the basis of easy maintenance meaning it shouldn't los...

XCOM - Enemy Unknown Rather than break down what I think here's a little story: I’d got in the habit of moving rookies forward first in case the aliens come from a direction I didn’t anticipate so they can be cannon fodder if they end up in the open. One mission I accidentally did this with my most ...

I'm definitely going to get my hands on this, any album with songs referencing Goran Ivanisevic is a winner to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7BVUBxcwWkA Definitely intrigued to hear what the song "There is no cure for the common cold so don't expect a cure for c...

Hmm, I really liked El Camino. Perhaps not as good as Brothers, but still some great songs. I probably should get around to the massive gap in my Black Keys collection, I'd kind of forgotten about them after Thickfreakness (which has some excellent tracks too).

Yay, Limey!

Also amn't (note the apostrophe, it's a contraction!) could possibly have been me as it was definitely a word I used to use in speech (maybe I still do, can't say I'd notice) and I always tended (and still often tend!) to write forum posts in a conversational manner.

Alabama Shakes From what I'd heard of Alabama Shakes on the radio I'd unfairly judged them as Kings of Leon impersonators (and boring later era Kings of Leon at that!) but having seen them live it was soon apparent that while this was the case for a couple of their songs a lot of their stuff was ac...

In Reply To #50 I'm also a big "album listener" (in case the album art and the fact that I still do Top 20 lists didn't make that obvious) and this has been a great year for solid end to end listens that grabbed me right away. Funny I thought this year had been merely alright. Cleraly not...

In Reply To #43 Ooh, good stuff that. Looks like you're going to make me start spending money on music all over again, I seem to remember you recommending some great stuff back at GSF. As for jangly pop rock, Allo' Darlin' have been one of my favourite exponents of it recently: http://www.youtube.co...

I also like the Quick Reply box at the bottom of most other forum's pages  Yup, so that you can actually scroll up the page to read other posts before you hit the submit button, instead of being taken to an isolated page. I have a bad memory. I tend to forget things easily. I'm sure I remembe...

Discman ...Walkman Vinylman? http://media-files.gather.com/images/d112/d254/d745/d224/d96/f3/full.jpg I did initially have a Walkman as well. I also like to remain rather smug about predicting the fact that minidisc was going to be a failure. Not that I'm a technology prediction guru or anything, I...
