So I downloaded Real Racing 3 for iPhone. I kind of liked the last one and this one's free. It's a beautiful game. If you're used to motion control games it controls really well. But then you get playing and it's apparent that the microtransactions are just out of hand. After every race you're hit w... |

I finished The Walking Dead. It's a pretty great experience. Clementine is one of my favorite game characters ever. |

What's really been shocking to me is when I've had wifi on busses. I've used Megabus a couple of times for moderate distance trips and wifi on the bus is a nice perk. Not enough bandwidth for Netflix or something crazy but bring your Macbook and work all the way to Miami or Atlanta for 8 bucks a tic... |

In Reply To #4 For what it's worth the iOS version is the same game as all those.
I bought this on Steam, have yet to get to it. |

Walking Dead isn't really about Zombies; I mean they're there but they're more or less the backdrop for amazing drama between the people. |

Got a few more hours into Witcher 2, just didn't think it was that exciting. Decided to pick up Assasin's Creed 3. If you like stabbing and shooting dudes. |

In Reply To #23 I sort of agree with that health issue, but here's the problem in the later years of a console generation fewer and fewer new things come out. A lot of the publishers get hyperconservative and we get something like this year's E3, no surprises, nothing new so much more of the same fr... |

In Reply To #7 If speed is a going concern for you then I honestly think there's no other source but Twitter. My morning news consumption usually amounts to scrolling through twitter and adding stuff to instapaper then reading the news. I think Kotaku was largely able to push ahead of sites like Gam... |

In Reply To #20 Well i mean if you go the traditional route and go get VC money, you sell part of the company to people who you raise the money from. If you go the Kickstarter route you get a bunch of money from people who play the same role as VCs, but they don't get any equity. So you bear all the... |

I find that games journalism ends to have a sort of cyclical nature. Someone out there is doing really great work and then for business reasons it doesn't work and someone else starts doing that great work. The Past Gamespy: The Gamespy of 2000 or so was a really cool and progressive site. They were... |

Part of it is the indie people are the only people not doing this silly waiting game. All the big guys seem to effectively have decided to end this generation in next Summer and so there's this tremendously short roster of interesting titles right now because there's a lot of people doing something ... |

Playing the Witcher 2, I'm on the first boss getting my ass kicked. I'm level 8 now, starting to wonder how much longer before this game gets awesome. If it were just the difficulty that would be awesome but I haven't ran into any terribly interesting choices which is what this game is so loved for.... |

I've been so god damned busy lately I've not managed to play any games but for Letter Press and Rayman on iPad/phone.
I'm mostly playing the working nearly full time and getting my teacher's license game. It sucks, but I'm most of the way through. |
