In Reply To #58 I am hoping to check out Berlin next weekend, a Friday to Monday thing. Hoping it won't rain, because I want to do a lot of walking outside. I am hoping to at least fit in: - Brandenburger Tor - Reichstag - Fernseheturm - Potsdamer Platz - Bits of the old wall I very much want to ch...

I really like civ V but it hasn't grabbed me since I stopped playing shortly after its launch, probably because of the AI. This patch looks like a nice point to return to it though, perhaps if the expansion goes on sale too. Assuming the AI is markedly better anyway!

I expect I will want to get out of here when winter hits, but I'll need to experience it first.

Before moving to Berlin a week ago, the lady would say 'you liked Berlin after a summer, let's see if you like it after a winter'.

My last 'woah the future' moment was realising how ubiquitous internet/news access was when I was sitting in the train to Hong Kong reading the news on wifi access and almost taking it for granted. Now with tablets taking off we are so close to the sci-fi electronic newspapers you might see in movie...

I've been looking at Torchlight 2 but I'm really unfamilliar with ARPGs. How long does it take to 'finish' a game though, or move on to the next difficulty or whatnot. Is there a lot of repetition in the surroundings or not? I read 4 hours somewhere to finish the main story, which seems awfully short.

Crusader Kings 2 is one of those games that I really enjoy and would heartily recommend but I virtually never finish a game of it (unless I get unlucky and die early doors) as I end up getting distracted. However, even the limited bursts I played it in threw up lots of cool little stories. I'm not ...

I play most games like my ping is 400 anyway.

Apparently you can just blame it on your abundance of cores now!

I've mostly been playing FTL which is awesomely brilliant. Sure a large part of it is luck, but another large part is forgetting you turned off the oxygen for extra weapon power and not notice your crew choking to death during a simple fight when everything was going so well and you found some aweso...

Also green, if and when the green party is a little sensible...(not the one run by religious crazies though).

This calls for celebratory old school original unreal tournament, on DM Morpheus, instagib and with Pseudo's ping inflated to 400. IRT noodles (I haven't written irt in..years..) I was busy moving to Berlin, showing off my german conquest to the peoples of the land so they would cower in fear at the...
