Dunno if it's total bullshit or not, but it sounds legit. I don't think Nitro could find this place via Google. I'm not sure if you guys want him here or not, but he's posting on IGN, if any of you want to talk to our good Egyptian-American doctor. If it's him.

Being a mod really fucks with your sense of trust.

I accept it as true, because I don't think Nitro would fuck over all of us, and it sounds like him.

Nitro was one of the reasons why I stuck around GSF in the first place. Fun conversations with Ryan and all.

And bulletblue. Or Pusto. Or Clam. Or one of the 500558 other aliases he used over the years.

I have no idea who here actually knew the guy. I know the name, that's about it, and I suspect others here might be at about that level as well - save for the ones who are still active on IGN.

Yet another reason to avoid LA if I ever visit the States again. Once was enough.

I call bullshit, but that's my gut reaction to anything pertaining to [BTF].

Ding Ding Ding.

Sorry Cat_Nip, I've been watching it occur in real time in #bentest. Nitro may be a Doctor but he still has a penchant to troll.

The story was so ridiculous he didn't expect anyone to believe him, and even after taking it further people weren't anything more than suspicious.

I laughed anyway.

I thought "(ex) forumgoer killed by police" fairly unlikely.

But "BTF nerd becomes drug addicted gun runner, goes to prison, gets out of prison, becomes drug addicted porn star killed in prison beating" stretched things just a smidgen beyond the bounds of credibility.

Nice to see that BTF still keep their traditions alive, at least.

It was really hard to believe yes, but I find if I'm not affected one way or another by saying I believe someone or not I just give them the benefit of the doubt... or at least pretend to.

I saw what Iced Tea wrote and for me it was the exact opposite reaction, BTF's conversion from honest posters to a disingenuous clique of people who thought spamming random shit was somehow clever or funny and the whole BTFzor vs everyone was one of the things that drove me away from the GSF and it's bullshit that I really didn't need.

I don't need someone thinking I'm a fool because I take them at their word. I don't even get the point of lying about something like this after not posting after how many years?

Just to be clear: BTFzor was one of the reasons I stopped posting @GSF as well. I suppose I remember Nitro more for being an intelligent poster at some point than all that jazz that came after ;)

Nitro started out alright. Sometime when we played NationStates, it started going to hell.

That's actually why I didn't comment at first.

I thought "bullshit", but there was a teeny-tiny element of doubt, and as it's someone I didn't even know anyway I thought I'd just leave it.

A posture I managed to hold onto right up until the moment someone else called it bollocks and then I couldn't hold it in any more (baa! baa!)

I agree with everything said between post #7 and this one, both concerning Nitro starting out decent and BTFzor driving me away.

As for the post about Ted, I only read the first few lines, figured "meh, people die, especially ex-convicts, didn't know the guy and can't care about everyone" and decided to leave it for people who did remember him. No point in ruining stuff for those who might've known him.

I tend to be pretty trusting, especially when I don't see what anyone might gain from lying.

Reading it again though, I doubt I'd have believed it if I had read the whole thing.
