As I enter Azeroth for the 8th year, and am at around 300 days /played. I just kind of wonder what's the longest you've played a game. Anyone out there still rocking a game after many years?

I doubt I have anything approaching 300 days of gameplay. Yowza. My first run through Fallout 3 was a bit over 180 hours. First through Skyrim was about 160. I kept an SNES for a looooong time and played the shit out of some of those games for quite a few years. No idea about time but I could beat Super Contra solo, no code without trying very hard.

I guess the longest I've played any game is either Diablo II for dunno how long or Some games in the Mass Effect Series, probably the second one, which I played through a bunch of times.

I've had about 300 hours on Fallout 3 (across multiple characters).

Total War games are about 150 hours each (I suspect Medieval II is more, but I originally had it pre-Steam so it didn't count)

I thought I'd played lots of X3, but it's apparently 67 hours.

GalCiv II is probably getting on for 200 hours, actually - 90 hours on Steam but it's another one I had pre-Steam.

Quit WoW after 7 years. Don't know my /played but I'm assuming it's disgusting. Had something like 11 level 85's. Even now some of my old guildmates are going back for Pandarian. Me, I'm off that horse.

I couldn't give you a precise figure, but hundreds of hours (I would think 500+) would have been spent on Civ4 and it's various expansion packs over the 5 years since it was released until Civ5 replaced it. It was a damn well polished game by the time Beyond the Sword came out, and frankly Civ5 has yet to match it even after 2 years and an expansion.

I was playing Diablo 2 recently, as well as 10 years ago, so that probably wins for the overall longevity of a game for me, but in terms of raw hours played it actually wouldn't be too many. Strategy games are where my time gets sucked.

Civ2?

Is this from some kind of hardware limitation? That's a lot of Civs ago.

Does playing with myself count?

I put a lot of hours into TF2. More recently, I've just finished playing through all 3 Mass Effect games over the course of about a month.

If it does I need to change my answer.

For overall amount of hours I think UO trumps everything. There was no /played so I don't know exactly but it had to be hundreds of hours. I only played WoW for about 3 months post release and maybe a dense month in closed beta. Never got beyond level 42.

EVE online might be up there, but a lot of that playing was doing other things too.

For the game that has 'stuck' around for the longest I'd say Counter-Strike if you count it all as one game. That was the game that got me to upgrade my graphics card and actually get into PC gaming. I played a bit of CS:GO a few weeks ago and would like to play more.

That's a scary number. I'm quite ashamed to say that my WoW hours combined over my characters is actually over a year. I'm glad Blizzard ruined that game (was it even good to begin with you ask) because it made it easier to leave.

Longest play session without sleeping: Syndicate Wars with FiN, or Ragnarok Online. One or the other - a bit over 2 days off memory.

Bite your tongue. If I didn't buy Civ V, I'd still be playing Civ II. That game was near perfection.

Whoa really? 2 days of constant playing? I assume food and bathroom breaks but that's pretty intense. How did the games hold your attention that long?
