So, lately:
Locatelli Soilwork RH Factor My musical taste has expanded somewhat and now in addition to classical, Simon and Garfunkel and The Beatles it is known to include: QueenLeonard CohenNightwishIron MaidenCakeRadioheadREMTom WaitsThe EelsNick DrakeBuena Vista Social ClubI like Nightwish, Queen, and a bit of Iron Maiden from that list. In general I like epic, progressive music. You might like Symphony X? Their older stuff (Albums: Divine Wings of Tragedy, V, Odyssey somewhat) is more symphonic, operatic like those bands, whereas their new stuff is more metal (Paradise Lost, Iconoclast). I'd also recommend Dream Theater and Ayreon, based on those bands you like. Have you gotten into Jazz at all old or new? Bossa Nova?

"do dallas" is generally my 'listen to something very good very loud to stay awake on the train home' album, mostly because I don't feel like listening to new albums if I'm not awake/alert enough, and because I keep trying to reduce Spotify to 2012 albums to encourage new listens and just can't untick that one. Speaking of 2012, I'm currently spinning Electric Hawaii by Opossom: They're a new band from Kody Nielson, formerly of The Mint Chicks. His brother Ruban who was also in The Mint Chicks made waves last year with Unknown Mortal Orchesta, but while they focused on a Hip-Hop/Funk hybrid Opossom has a hazy, psychedelic vibe. This is definitely an end-to-end listen for me, I can't hear the end of a track without looking forward to the next one. Fly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvmJZG2wYL0

My favorite musician and best finger-picking guitarist of all time Chris Smither, playing Hundred Dollar Valentine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQtnNlg_XT0

Hardflip linked me to Woodkid - Run Boy Run which is a pretty awesome video in addition to being a cool song and I've been listening to it for two days straight, pretty much. Check out Iron by the same guy for the first part of the story, as it were. You might also recognize this one from the Assassin's Creed: Revelations trailer.
