I think this is the first time I've been back on a forum in years. I assume that commenting on blogs doesn't count. Mostly I think I'd use a normal computer for it but the iPad will do when I can't be bothered to go to a computer, and I'd generally prefer to use the iPad for normal reading.

iPad for reading and posting nowadays. I barely even use my laptop except for gaming, and occasionally posting pictures.

iPads still aren't great for off the cuff photos/images on forums.

First for me today was actually posting at work. Good job at wasting (some) of your own tax-paying money!

I've been thinking about how technology has changed since I left GSF, mostly how I tend to use a tablet or smartphone for most of my web-browsing needs. Also that things used to be a lot less rounded at the turn of the century.

Then I thought what the hell, I'd make a poll!

I am trying the forums from my android phone for the first time. It looks pretty good and posting is really quite easy.

Not a bad thing to have while stuck in a hospital waiting room.

Laptop for me. I want a desktop but need to wait till I'm not likely to be moving (which could be a while).

Now that you mention that, perhaps it's time to consider a desktop myself.

I remember years ago when we all laughed at MMB for being on an iMac. I recall this as I type a post on one.

I hate that Marcus Spinner was a trendsetter.

Also I'm still Facebook friends with him for some reason.

Since it's relevant, I guess I should share our preliminary visitor stats for the first week of GeekSpy's existence.

Browser
1. Chrome - 58.82%
2. Safari - 13.21%
3. Firefox - 12.59%
4. Opera - 5.57%
5. Android Browser - 5.16%
6. Internet Explorer - 4.23%

Ah IE... last place is almost as good as not placed. Opera I suppose is just me, both on my laptop and phone.

Operating System
1. Windows - 61.51%
2. iOS - 16.31%
3. Macintosh - 12.90%
4. Android - 6.81%
5. Linux - 2.17%
6. Windows Phone - 0.31%

It looks like Parena is 2.17% of our traffic. Who has a Windows Phone here?

The Windows Phone is me (and probably only me, I imagine.). It's lovely.

People are slowly catching on. At my old work, as I was leaving, our IT team was having problems keeping things under control with every second manager asking for an iPhone. We handed out two Nokia Windows phones in the weeks before I left, and the users loved them - way more than their iPhones.

Good for IT because there don't seem to be any issues with Exchange, unlike iOS which has had all sorts of forwarding, request accepting and repeat-calendar-entry problems over the years.

I am hoping by the end of next year the company is completely iPhone free. Don't get me wrong, they're good devices for consumers, but for a Microsoft-based business Windows Phone looks a lot more sensible right now.

Yeah, mine's a Nokia (Lumia 800). It's a great device, the build quality is amazing. The only issue with Windows Phone really is the lack of apps, and I can't say that bothers me.

Mostly I went with WP because I don't like the Apple model of total control, and I wanted something I could develop for without paying. And I'm not keen on Android because I can't stand Java. Having said that, I haven't even made Hello World so clearly that wasn't as important as I thought at the time.
