All right! An audience!

I'd hope for your sake an e-mail alert brought you here, but I know you just have the tab open at all times, refreshing every few minutes for this exact thread.

I've had this PC on for 483 days straight now, with the browser auto-refreshing the Active Topics. I scripted it to play a sound file whenever it detects a change, which is currently set as a very loud and distorted "meow" that I found on reddit.

Or I get RSS alerts.

Hmm.

I'm going to assume from the complete lack of responses to that thread that it was so straightforward that everyone added it without issue and they'll be along shortly...

I actually don't know anyone aside from myself who even uses a feed reader these days, to be honest.

But I find it useful.

I stop by every week or two.

I also stop by every once in a while :)

Usually when I'm a bit bored and start refreshing the same couple of pages over and over again in the hopes that one of them suddenly has some interesting update.

It's strange. Normally the internet is too big and active for me to possibly keep up, but when I'm bored, everybody appears to stop updating at the same time.
