Okay, so you're probably well aware of the fact that for the upcoming Sim City title you can not actually play single player, as in single player offline. Yup, you have to be online at all times. Why? For the sole reason that building a city neighbouring other cities creates of more "richer" experience for the player. *cough* bullshutz, whatever. Watch this http://au.pc.gamespy.com/pc/sim-city-5/1226759p1.htmlIf I ever play this new title, can you guess what my aim would be? Hint. It's nothing mischievousness. Truuuussstttt me, neh?

Wow, that guy has an epic 'mo.
I too have my reservations about how EA is going about things. Origin, always-online, I'm not a fan of either. However for a new SimCity I don't expect I will be able to resist.

Is it to build a casino town like in the first demo vid, and lead a population of helpless addicts to destroy as many lives as possible?

To let my city fall into absolute chaos and funnel the crime into another person's city!

I wonder if the game lets us choose to be near each other. Then perhaps we could both do the same thing and double the effect on an unsuspecting neighbour.

In Reply To #1 Ha! You linked to a gamespy link. What is this gamespy?
IRTT The SimCity series hits this old nerve in me that'll never die. I played SimCity 2000 on lab computers in Cornell where my aunt worked for 6 hours straight. It was my first or second real "PC gaming" exposure. I can't remember if WarCraft was first but both titles absolutely entranced me. I think I forever associated PC gaming with sandbox-y creativity afterwards.

In Reply To #7 Oh so the summary of new simcity: I don't give a damn if I have to be online, I'll play it. With Steam I am always kind of online to play games anyway. It is a little annoying to have to 'think ahead' and go in offline mode if I need to play a game offline... a little annoying maybe twice a year?

Build your city near mine! Free beers (and crime)! I've never really been much into sims, except sim farm...but free beer and crime is rather enticing...
