Oh wow, hellooooo everyone. O_O

As is evident from my enormous post count (it's times 1000, right?), I can't be blamed for this. I take pride in keeping this place going, always around for those in need of a laugh, a cry or, as is usual for some of us at a certain age, a random fart that you didn't notice coming.

Huzzah! Congrats! Meanwhile, this was "GSF" forum #2, during which I got both divorced and married again. Also, my wife requests there will be no new forum for some reason, go figure...

And since CS was wondering about all the happenings of people. I also managed to quit my job after 17 years at the same company and completely change careers. Now, if only I could find a job in that new career.

Oh and last year I figured out I like to wear eyeliner and mascara. There you are, 42 years old and you're like "I wonder..." thanks to being silly with Instagram filters with the wife. "Guess we're going shopping for you tomorrow" she said once I told her. So now I do that regularly. Nothing else, just those 2 things because I think it looks good on me. The places life takes you, huh?

All joking aside, seriously - thanks for keeping the fire burning, He Leg.

We may not have made huge usage of it, except for parena spamming the boards every day, but it was nice to have this place to come back and at least reminisce when the mood struck.

I still get a kick out of rereading some of the threads here every couple years. You lot are hilarious.

What I am thinking (and currently testing) is to set up a static/archived version so the forums can remain browseable without having any vulnerable backend software or database - a bit like the existing ForumPlanet archives I've got.

OK, it’s officially time to put “Legend” back in your name!

The announcement definitely went into my junk folder as well - but the password reset seems to be working now.

Like everyone else, forumplanet was a bit of a heyday for internet foruming for me - social media definitely had its part it killing all those little communities all over the internet (insert some other old-man shit about how the internet is all 'content creators' and 'tiktoks' nowadays here, if you like)

At least all the main social sites have now started to eat themselves too... not quite justice but they are crap so they definitely deserve to wallow in their own filth.

I get pretty much all my 'internet socialising' fix from reddit these days, which is very impersonal but I guess that's web whatever-number-we're-up-to-now.0
