I haven't played UT with you guys in years. Does it still install on a windows 7 machine? I want to play some off the walls oldschool deathmatch, or Capture the Flag, or something. C'mon! Who's with me?

Hm, I don't think I've got the original version. Is it still available anywhere for cheap?

Can you afford $4.99 on Steam before July 22?

I just might. Will be back home on the 19th so I'll check it out then.

If you're having trouble getting UT to run on modern processors set the Core Affinity to a single core as it sometimes doesn't care for multi-core processors. Note that this most likely will happen if you're using the original install discs, I have no idea if you'll need to do this for the Steam or GOG versions of the game.

I really need to fix my PC. I'm pretty sure I could run it.

OK so it seems when I search for Unreal Tournament on Steam I get autocomplete results, but upon selecting them I get no actual results at all.

Incidentally, the Steam version seems to run fine on Windows 7 with a multicore processor (Although the resolution is... impressively old school (even when apparently increased...))

Multiplayer seems to work okay (there are people playing; it let me set up and host a match etc.)

I should test my game of the Year copy. I can't remember the last time I installed it.

Thanks! Installing now.

Still weird though. Searching for it by name, getting the autocomplete for it, and when selecting that option the only search result that comes up is "Guild Wars".

I think someone dun goofed up good.

OK, Dave and I have had a practice run, all working fine. The only manual edit I had to do was to the .ini file to set the resolution, as the in-game options don't go beyond 1280 wide.

With the timezone difference to the US, I imagine weekends will be easiest for us to organise something.

Win 7 won't let me install the GOTY version on CD. I guess I should have bought the steam version while it was on sale... It's still only $9.99, I might just plop it down for a working copy, but I will make that decision later int he week when I'm not contemplating passing out from kung fu class...
