Not having a console, I let let Amalur pass under my radar. Seems like a lot of other people did too, even with consoles.

It's an interesting article though, having found the time to read it through today. I really don't get how anyone could pour that sort of (scarce) money in to such a project with no track record.

You can still pick it up for about $10-$20 on PC.

It wasn't a "bad" game, but unfortunately it wasn't a rather good game either. It got bogged down too much by the mmo Copernicus influence. Too many "Kill 15 Bear Asses" style of quests and such. The combat, some people liked it, some people didn't. And while R.A. Salvatore did put in a lot the world concept elements, none of the actual story writing was done by him, which clearly shows. Though I did get sick of his writing a while ago when I kept reading Drizzt 2.0 and 3.0 and Alternate Universe Drizzt.

That was the one Angry Joe vid that finally convinced me of his awesomeness.

Sucks about 38. I actually enjoyed KoA a lot. I liked the combat and the story was good. The Dead Kel DLC was very good too.

Looks like it's on in the courtroom now. It will be interesting to see if anyone picks up the Amalur assets that are sold off, maybe someone can do something useful with them.

Not that the industry has a history of being very good at that...
