The early buzz around this album billed it as a Spoon and Wolf Parade supergroup. In reality, without Spencer Krug, Dan Boeckner's contributions lean more towards his synth-heavy Handsome Furs sound, though that's actually a great match for Britt Daniels' sparse but catchy contributions (not unlike Spoon's last album, Transference).
